Raven’s Quest, developed by PiXel Games, is an adult RPG that tries to merge visual novel elements with exploration and RPG mechanics. The artwork is strong with this one, in my opinion. The game features a cute protagonist, Raven, and a variety of themes aimed at adult audiences.

Story and Characters

The narrative begins with Raven waking up in a cabin with no memory of her past. From there, players guide Raven through various exploration and events, attempting to uncover her past and navigate a world filled with erotic encounters.

The story feels light and there’s a noticeable absence of character development, especially for Raven, who reacts to major events with a surprising indifference. But is this what we are here for anyway?

Art and Animation

Raven’s Quest’s art style is one of its best aspects. The character designs are appealing, and Raven herself is quite cute, which adds some charm to the game. The scenes are in many cases repetitive, recycling the same sprites and animations across different events. This reuse of assets can make the game feel monotonous after a short period.

Gameplay and Mechanics

The gameplay is a mix of exploration, basic combat, and erotic scenes.

  • Exploration: There are a few areas to explore and events to discover.
  • Combat: The combat system is not rich and not empty. It essentially boils down to increasing numbers and drinking potions.
  • Erotic Content: The game’s main advantage is the unique art. There is not much variety but using the same animations with altered texts is an interesting aspect.

A very positive note is the outfit customization, which offers a variety of choices for dressing Raven. However, even this feature has its limitations, as the outfits aren’t reflected in the erotic scenes, diminishing their impact.

General User Feedback:

Player reviews found online in spaces like F95zone highlight several aspects of the game:

  • Repetitive Content: Many players mention that the erotic scenes may quickly become repetitive, with little variation or depth.
  • Lack of Emotional Depth: Raven’s indifference to significant events detracts from the immersion and overall experience.
  • Basic Mechanics: Both the combat and exploration mechanics are seen as simplistic.
  • Art and Animation: The art looks amazing.

Positive feedback tends to focus on the game’s potential and the appeal of its main character. Some players enjoy the variety of fetishes and the customization options, despite the overall execution falling short.

Conclusion

Raven’s Quest is a game with promising elements and was quite enjoyable for me. The art style and outfit customization are great. There are issues with it being repetitive but you may have 3-4 enjoyable hours of “gaming” if you follow Raven’s Quest walkthrough. I definitely recommend trying it!
